Earth Day At Unique Unicorns

We have been taking a closer look at various sustanability practices, and what we can do for the environment over the past couple of weeks in recognition of Earth Day.
The Joeys, Koalas and Wombats have been saving water from meal times to water the outdoor plants.
The Possums and Bilbies have been keeping their lights off during activity time, and also replanting seeds in the gardens outside.
The Wombat children have been working hard on their garden and also collecting recycled materials to hang up in the room, making a beautiful plastic bottle chain.
The centre also had a visit from Melanie who works for the Townsville City Council. Melanie discussed with the children what it mean't to recycle, what can be placed in the recycling bin and some handy tips on how to recycle.
Thanks Melanie, we have all learn't something and are eager to put it into practice.
